It’s only 8:45—there’s still light in the sky.
Though, the sun is sinking slow and the hill’s all aglow—
the purple and the orange and blue and the green…
Around me, I am surrounded by her love—
the trust she gives me, and the future in her heart
that guides her onward. She’s so full of hope,
so much excitement, and so much more. I’m sure of it
because of the comfort we have made,
because she rests her sleepy head and drifts off far away
to distant shores between each snore. She comes back
to check if I’m in bed and then she’s asleep again.
So I’ll do the rounds—turn off the lamp and lock the door,
unplug the twinkling lights that frame our kitchen
and shut the window, close the blinds, and climb on in.
It’s time for bed, time for bed, time for bed—
I wrap her in my arms and Hello—
in Dreamland I see what dreams come true—
I see her—and Hello—what dreams come true!
I see her and Hello, Hello, Hello!
