Fireflies

We’ve all come too far to
give up who we are, and all
those flashes of life, and all those
experiences of hurt, and giant victories, and
the little nuances silently leading our
eyes to look at things we’d never notice
that is our soul: the unknown and
deeply felt, all raging and rumbling inside us like
so many exploding starstrapped in jarslike
fireflies assaulting the lid of the universe.

What put us here? Why is it screwed
so tightly?
